Jackson, MI – The Jackson community will have the opportunity to view the brand new $6.4 million American 1 Credit Union Event Center at Keeley Park during its debut event, the 44th Annual Home & Garden Show, beginning Friday, February 28 through Sunday, March 1.
“In the first 50 days the American 1 Credit Union Event Center is open, we already have 30 days booked,” said Kyle Lewis, Deputy Parks Director for the Jackson County Parks. “It’s clear there was a demand for an event center of this size in Jackson, and we’re thankful American 1 stepped up to the plate to provide a space of this magnitude for our community.”
The new 30,000 square foot American 1 Credit Union Event Center is a multi-use facility that offers uniquely designed spaces flexible for any occasion such as wedding receptions, banquets, and corporate events for as many as 800 seated guests. It’s also the perfect space for large conventions, consumer or trade shows, business meetings, and banquets.
“American 1’s gift of $4 million was the largest single gift in our credit union’s history,” said Martha Fuerstenau, President/CEO of American 1 Credit Union. “Our trust in the County of Jackson to construct a refined, professional space for our community to enjoy for generations to come made the partnership a natural decision for our executive team and Board of Directors.”
The space features rooms dedicated to long-standing members of the American 1 Board of Directors – past and present. Tremaine Meeting Room is a nod to long-standing American 1 Board Member Jerry Tremaine. Radabaugh Hall, the larger of the two main event spaces is named after Chester “Chet” Radabaugh, while the smaller main event space, Sisk Hall, received its name from Jerry Sisk. Radabaugh and Sisk were still serving actively on the American 1 Board of Directors at the time of their passing, both in 2015.
“This partnership between the public and private entities of Jackson County Parks and American 1 Credit Union is unprecedented – not only in Jackson, but in most areas. It’s our unified desire to serve and invest in the Jackson community that makes this partnership work,” said Janelle Merritt, VP of Community Partnerships for American 1.
