Members of the SoMi Chapter of Credit Unions presented a $10,000 check to Bea Cuthbertson, Director of Development at Catholic Charities of Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties. The money was raised at the So Mi’ Chapter’s annual charity golf outing held on August 5, 2021, at The Grande Golf Club in Jackson, MI.
Funds raised will go to Catholic Charities’ Child Advocacy Centers (CACs). These centers, located in Jackson and Adrian, assist local law enforcement in providing essential care to children who are victims of sexual and severe physical abuse. The CACs provide a comfortable, child-friendly atmosphere where children can receive critical support they need while the investigative process happens behind the scenes. They are offered therapy and resource information, all at no cost. The So-Mi’ Chapter of Credit Unions exists to promote and protect credit unions and the credit union movement. The Chapter is formed from 8 separate credit unions located in Jackson, Lenawee, and Washtenaw counties. Each year chapter executives pick a local charity and raise funds to help that nonprofit organization provide support in our communities.
