Adrian, MI – On Wednesday, February 12, American 1 Credit Union hosted the Third Annual American 1 Supermarket Sweep at the Country Market in Adrian, Michigan.
Supermarket Sweep teams had five minutes to collect as many groceries on the provided list as they could. The Planet Fitness team took home first place collecting 57 out of 66 items, followed by The Daily Telegram in second place. In total, 489 grocery items were collected and donated to The Salvation Army of Lenawee County.
This year’s American 1 Supermarket Sweep event featured ten teams including American 1 Credit Union, Croswell Opera House, Siena Heights University, The Daily Telegram, WLEN Radio, Adrian District Library, The Centre, Jackson College, Planet Fitness, and Lenawee Christian School.
American 1 and Country Market partner to cover the cost of the items collected during the American 1 Supermarket Sweep. In the first two years of the event, a combined total of $1,400 was raised for The Salvation Army of Lenawee County. This year’s Supermarket Sweep brought in the highest donation to date at $1,042.
