In a recent press release, Attorney General Dana Nessel warned Michigan citizens of potential door-to-door scams during the coronavirus pandemic. Scammers can pose as government officials offering information on stimulus checks and unemployment benefits and ask for your personal information. If someone approaches your door and asks for your information, do not give it out. Ask to see a government-issued ID. If they cannot provide this, close the door and call your local law enforcement.
