American 1 to Host Shred Day in Jackson

5/10/2021

American 1 Credit Union offers annual free Community Shred Days for individuals and small businesses to shred their confidential documents in a safe, professional setting.

The Jackson Shred Day is May 15, 2021, from 10am to 12pm at the Westwood Mall (1850 W Michigan Ave., Jackson).

“In this day and age, scams, fraud, and identity theft are incredibly prevalent,” said Angela Hadley, VP of Risk for American 1. “Our team works tirelessly each day to educate our community on ways to protect themselves, and shred days are a great, secure opportunity to discard documents that could lead to identity theft.”

Free shred days are an opportunity to safely and securely destroy personal documents that include important and private information you would never want anyone to have. American 1 uses reputable shred companies to bring a shredding truck on-site to shred day and can shred your documents before you leave. The shred companies properly dispose of shred material and recycle the material in a secure process, so no personal information is vulnerable.

“Offering free shred days is another way American 1 works to support small businesses and community members,” said Janelle Merritt, VP of Community Partnerships for American 1. “Financial wellness is a top priority for us, and this starts with protecting yourself and your assets.”

American 1 is also offering a free shred day from 10am to 12pm on May 22 at the Hillsdale Branch (3192 W Carleton Rd, Hillsdale, MI 49242).

Established in 1950, American 1 Credit Union today serves over 59,000 members with 16 branch locations across Jackson, Washtenaw, Hillsdale, Calhoun, Lenawee, and Wayne counties. American 1 is proud to serve the members of their communities by creating financial wellness through personal everyday banking.
