Jackson, MI – Today American 1 Credit Union and R.J.'s Heavenly Delights announced a combined donation of $740 to breast cancer research. During the month of October, a portion of each pink treat sold was donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation of Michigan by R.J.’s Heavenly Delights, and American 1 matched all donations up to $500.
"When R.J.'s approached us with this idea, we immediately sprang into action," said Janelle Merritt, VP of Community Partnerships for American 1 Credit Union. "Working with a local business and supporting breast cancer research made this partnership a perfect fit. Our community thrives because of businesses like R.J.'s Heavenly Delights, and we are so thankful for their commitment to Jackson and their willingness to give back to others as well."
R.J.'s Heavenly Delights is a family-owned business founded in 2014 in remembrance of their son. The sweet treat shop features a vibrant and fun atmosphere with desserts that are sure to make you smile – including cheesecakes, cupcakes, crazy shakes, macarons, and much more.
Yvette Wilkie, owner of R.J.'s Heavenly Delights, said, "I was so encouraged by American 1's creativity and desire to support our small business. This initiative helped increase our exposure during a tough year while benefitting an important cause. We know people who have been personally impacted by breast cancer and are pleased to help support awareness and research."
