Jackson, MI—American 1 Credit Union donated $10,000 to Talons Out Honor Flight.
Talons Out Honor Flight, founded in 2013, flies United States veterans and their guardians to see their war memorials in Washington, D.C., free of charge.
"Donating to Talons Out Honor Flight is truly a humbling experience," stated Carolyn Duncan, Chief Member Experience Officer for American 1. “Our mission is to support all the communities we serve, and having the ability to support this organization allows our members and employees who meet the criteria to take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and reap the reward of their unwavering commitment and service to our country."
Since the program's inception, Talons Out Honor Flight has flown over 1,000 veterans to visit their memorials. The next flight, on May 4, will allow two American 1 employees to experience this opportunity as a thank you for their service.
"The Talons Out Honor Flight is a way of honoring my fellow veterans for their service and to help us connect our experiences to pass them down to future generations,” stated Aaron Ravert, Member Service Specialist for American 1. “Much like the memorials we will visit in D.C., the program reminds us of where we have been and what we've accomplished in life. I am looking forward to a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
Talons Out fully relies on volunteers and donations to uphold its mission. Donations can be made through June 30 at any American 1 Credit Union branch location through their Donate Local program or anytime by visiting talonsouthonorflight.org.
