Martha Fuerstenau, American 1 Credit Union CEO/President and Henry Ford Allegiance Health Board Chair, was honored as the Grand Marshal of the ARCA Racing Series Henry Ford Health System 200 at Michigan International Speedway on Friday, August 20.
The Henry Ford Health System 200, part of the ARCA Menards Series, kicked off the weekend festivities at the NASCAR track in Brooklyn, MI.
Fuerstenau, who assumed the role of Henry Ford Allegiance Health Board Chair in January of this year, said she was excited to represent the credit union and the health system at a premier community event that celebrates local drivers in an up-and-coming racing series.
“I’m honored I was selected to serve as Grand Marshal for the Henry Ford Health System 200. It was a thrilling experience to give the command for drivers to start their engines,” Fuerstenau said. “I’ll never forget this experience, and I’m thankful to Henry Ford and Paula for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
Paula Autry, President and CEO of Henry Ford Allegiance Health, waved the green flag to start the race alongside Fuerstenau, who shouted, “Drivers, start your engines!”
“When we were asked to select a Grand Marshal for the Henry Ford Health System 200, Martha was an obvious choice,” Autry said. “Martha’s vision and leadership as our Board Chair at Henry Ford Allegiance Health is elevating the work we do and ensuring safe, quality care continues to be a cornerstone of our local health system.”
