Today, American 1 Credit Union pledged $5,000 to their new Teacher Grant Program, where ten educators will each receive $500 for classroom improvements.
The newly formed Teacher Grant Program aligns well with the credit union’s Key Giving Areas: Partnership & Involvement, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion, and People & Communities.
“Supporting educators and local schools is important to us,” said Erica Estelle, Community Partnership Manager for American 1. “We value the hard-working, dedicated teachers in the communities we serve and appreciate what they’re doing to educate our future leaders. Offering grant funding to support classrooms is one small way we can give back to those who give so much.”
The Teacher Grant program complements the American 1 Scholarship program, which has awarded $240K in scholarships to 240 local students since the program’s inception in 2004.
American 1’s Teacher Grants are due September 7, 2023. For more information and to apply, visit www.american1cu.org/grants.
