Jackson, MI – American 1 Credit Union announced its purchase of 900 N. Cooper Street in Jackson, Michigan, to rehome its corporate operations.
The 23,000-square-foot building, previously home to Elara Caring, will accommodate the growth of the Jackson-based credit union. In the past 12 months, American 1 Credit Union opened two new branches and announced three additional to open within the next year.

It also allows us to continue to focus on building uncomplicated and convenient banking that is easily accessible for all.”
American 1 Credit Union is planning to transition its corporate operations to 900 N. Cooper Street in late 2025, following the completion of necessary renovations to serve the needs of its staff. The credit union’s location at 718 E. Michigan Avenue will remain the Home Office and will continue to provide banking services. The new Cooper Street location will not be a banking center.
The area where 900 N. Cooper Street sits has been an important part of Jackson’s history for almost 175 years. American 1 will contribute to the 200th anniversary of this location in our community.
